In the 60′s, when I was a little girl of about 6 or 7 years old, I heard someone say that word: neato. I adopted it as my own and used it often. Now, I believe “awesome” would mean about the same. (Maybe “awesome” is out of date as I type this?  ) I still remember our neighbor laughing when I said “neato.” That was a long time ago, but I still smile when I remember that. I was always talking (really yakking) to him over the back yard fence. He and his wife had 3 kids in high school at the time, but he seemed to be okay when I would catch him working in his back yard. (I was a yakker back then, not at all shy like I am now. LOL)

Later, as a teenager, no way was I going to say something so “quaint” and out of date. Using an old-fashioned word is just not something teenagers do.

Well, now I’m 54 years old, and I started using “neato” a few years ago when something makes me happy.  It just seems right.

Well, that’s how I came up with the name NeatoZone.
